Enact: A Creative Intervention Programme for Schools

Enact is a healthy relationships project funded by the Home Office, which examines rape culture in schools through participatory arts workshops and encourages young people to enact the changes they want to see.

The programme was successfully piloted in Summer 2022 and is set to engage over 200 young people across 8 schools throughout 2023, culminating in performances of eight original plays written by professional playwrights, who will develop scripts in response to the young people’s observations throughout the life of the project.

The programme:

  • 10 week multi-art form project exploring themes of healthy relationships and schools-based gendered abuse

  • Accreditation through Arts Award

  • Students supported to design and deliver their own Arts-based workshops in healthy relationships to younger students at their school

  • Each group is assigned a professional playwright to create an original commission based on their conversations around the subject

  • An end of project event where the students will come together and see their commission performed by professional actors.

The programme, designed for years 10 and over, is currently booking for Summer Term 2023. If you are a secondary school based in the Cherwell District area, please contact for more information.
